Pen Options
Arena stalls – There are four 12 x 16 inside stalls with 16 x 24 outside runs.
Single horse pen occupancy – This option often reduces the chances of injury from other horses. Horses have the feeder/shelter entirely to themselves
Double horse pen occupancy — This option works well for horses that get along well with their pen mate. Saves owners $60 per month
Feed Options
All horses are free fed. In other words, they are given a 3 x 4 x 8 foot bale or a round bale and allowed to eat as much as they want. Nets are generally in place to reduce waste, obesity and founder risk.
- Mixed grass – High quality, non-rain damaged timothy, smooth brome and or orchard grass. This is the choice of the majority of owners.
- Alfalfa — Often chosen for older horses needing a higher level of calories to keep weight on. Very risky for some horses as it can trigger founder
- Blue grass – Very clean, weed free blue grass baled after being harvested for seed. This is often bleached out but does have some green and tests out in the fair category. The best choice for horses prone to founder or laminitis or with a tendency to put on too much weight being free fed. Also the least cost.
Care Provided
Daily Wellness Checks – We have boarders that take turns checking on the horses, their hay status and water. These are the “Kindhearted Barn Angels” in Our Team page.
Vaccinations – While vaccines are the owners responsibility, we coordinate with a veterinarian to conduct annual vaccination days to reduce the cost. Horses do need to arrive fully vaccinated.
Remote viewing – For a minimal cost of $20 per month we provide access to view your horse with wireless solar powered PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras that can be viewed from your phone or computer.
Rates
Monthly per horse rates vary depending upon single or double pen occupancy and feed chosen. The four stalls are singles. No term commitments required. Month of arrival and departure are prorated.
